World of Warcraft now does selfies (with black-and-white filters if you want them)

Posted by on Aug 15, 2015 in WOW News | 0 comments

Our fantasy worlds are filled with not-so-subtle allusions to technical equipment beyond the limits of their fiction. Blood Bowl has the CAMRA – a bound spirit in a box whose mental image is transmitted by a team of magicians using the spell Cabalvision. And now World of Warcraft is getting S.E.L.F.I.E.s in Warlords of Draenor patch 6.1.

The S.E.L.F.I.E. camera is a toy now available on the Public Test Realm. It functions much the same way as GTA V’s equivalent – turning the camera to face the player on the end of an outstretched arm. Photos are saved to the screenshots folder.

The camera is currently in testing ahead of patch 6.1. Avatars will even pose and preen while players frame the shot.

You’ll be given the device after finishing a new level 100 mission named Field Photography – and can upgrade it to the S.E.L.F.I.E. camera MK II by completing its follow-up, Lens Some Hands. That’ll enable a few Instagram-like filters – sketch, black-and-white, and death.

“Who doesn’t like a selfie every now and then?”, ask Blizzard in the toy’s description. Do you?

Blizzard to scrap World of Warcraft’s Death Knight level requirement

Posted by on Aug 15, 2015 in WOW News | 0 comments

Many moons ago, Blizzard released the Wrath of the Lich King expansion to World of Warcraft, and along with it a new class: Death Knights. They were a special sort, being dubbed as a “Hero Class” due to their unique ability to start the game at level 55, which back then was a big thing. The only hitch was that you needed to already own a character that was over that level, before you could even think about creating one.

Now though, as time has passed, Blizzard have seen it fit to remove that arbitrary requirement.

The reasoning behind the update is simple. “With availability of the level 90 character boost, we feel the requirement to have a character level 55 or higher to unlock the Death Knight as a playable class is no longer relevant.” said community manager Nethaera. “The plan right now is to remove the limitation sometime next week, at which point players will be able to start a new Death Knight (which still begins at level 55) without first having to reach level 55 on another character.”

While this will mostly benefit brand new players entering the lands of Azeroth, they’ll need to wait a bit longer for this change make it into the game. “Upon looking into making this change, we discovered that a few client-side adjustments would need to go through in order for it to work.” Nethaera stated. “Therefore, our new plan is to remove the level 55 requirement for Death Knight creation in an upcoming content patch.”

That content patch will presumably be the introduction of the Blackrock Foundry raid early next year, or Patch 2.1 at the latest.

Posted by on May 10, 2015 in WOW News | 0 comments

One of the most exciting features that will arrive with the next World of Warcraft patch is Timeless Isle that will introduce several new features including NO DAILIES (yay!) and same-faction PvP. In a new blog post narrated by officer and gentleman, Major Payne, Timeless Isle is described in very picturesque language that gives players an idea of what they can expect. Seriously, the amount of land to cover and creatures to lay waste to is far too immense to even explain. I won’t even begin to tell you about Ordos and why flaming bits of him are stuck to my shield.wow gold. Let’s just say I’ve made this island my—ouch! One of the yaungol’s fleas bit me and now I have an itch. Anyway, my tales tend to cause minds to melt very quickly, so I’ll leave you with this: Whispershade Hollow, Red Stone Run, the Blazing Way, the Cavern of Lost Spirits, a mysterious floating skull, and a ghostly world riddled with chests. There are countless events, encounters, smelly animals, and delicious noms for you to enjoy.

Arathor alliance, Demon Soul- Alliance, few players play on these dead servers, so does wow gold farmer.wow gold. It’s hard to make wow gold fast and easy in these dead server, even for wow gold farmers, so they do not want to farm gold here. They need to level a 85 character on this server to make gold ,and it’s slow. So it does not worth. That’s why some dead servers don’t have wow gold in stock . World of Warcraft Tokens will let players exchange gold for game time

Posted by on Apr 6, 2015 in WOW News | 0 comments

Word that Blizzard was considering a tokens-for-time option for World of Warcraft first came to light late last year, when Community Manager Micah “Bashiok” Whipple revealed that the studio was looking at ways to make life more convenient for its players. Today it confirmed that the system is on the way in the form of WoW Tokens, a new in-game item that players can buy and sell for gold or real money, and then exchange for 30 days of World of Warcraft game time.
WoW Tokens will be purchasable through the World of Warcraft in-game shop, and can be sold on a ‘Token exchange’ in the Auction House. The value in gold will be “determined dynamically based on supply and demand,” and there will be no negotiating prices: Token values are quoted when they’re put up for sale and locked in once the sale is committed. The same system applies for Token purchases made through the shop.
The system is reminiscent of EVE Online’s Plex, but WoW Tokens can be sold for gold only once, after which they become Soulbound and can only be redeemed for game time. Blizzard said the system will give wealthy players something to do with the fortunes they’ve amassed, but more importantly it will enable players to acquire gold without having to go through third-party gold sellers, which it said are “one of the primary sources of account compromises.”
“Buying gold from third-party services negatively impacts the game experience for everyone. The overwhelming majority of the gold these services provide comes from stolen player accounts, halting the victims’ ability to play the game and contribute to their guilds,” it wrote. “On top of this, gold selling companies often farm resources using hack programs, sell fake product codes as a scam, and spam entire realms with ads to buy gold, disrupting the game in very real ways.”
Each region—Americas (including Australia and New Zealand, for some reason), Europe, Taiwan, Korea, and China—will have its own Token exchange. There will be no deposits required, nor will the Auction House take a cut from sales. Blizzard didn’t indicate when WoW Tokens will go live, saying only that they’ll be rolled out in an “upcoming patch.” More details will be revealed “at a later date,” but for now you can learn all there is to know right here.
